Hiroshima Moon

A Hiroshima moon mushrooms out,
casting shadows across Shukkei-en plots,
shaking pedals down to fertile ground.

The Oleander-
shrouded by Chugoku night-
toxic in all its parts,
yet radiant,
aglow in the aftermath,
imprisoned no more.

Look, but don’t touch
the feminine face of God.
