Based in Durham Region, the Brooklin Poetry Society meets from 12am-2pm once a month to read, share, kindly critique and discuss members’ poetry. Our goal is to support one another as poets, and to build a poetic community within Durham Region. Please check our Future Events page for information on meeting dates.
The Brooklin Poetry Society does welcome new members! Any poet, any style (haiku, free verse, spoken word…), at any stage of their poetic career. Full membership in our Society is $15 annually, which includes publication of poems on the BPS website, inclusion of your work in BPS-themed poetry anthologies, and sharing your publication/events information through our social media platforms.
For those who aren’t interested in publication, but would just like to join a group to share and discuss poetry, you are most welcome to join in our monthly meetings/discussions, free of charge!
Please come to one of our regularly scheduled meetings (see above) to check us out, and pay membership fees if you plan to join as a full member. A receipt of payment will be given to you at time of payment.
